Lalibella Cross
Devotion.
The Coptic Orthodox processional cross of the rock-hewn churches, carried into the shape of an old prayer pendant.
A symbol of unwavering devotion, inspired by a 1,600-year-old tradition in the Ethiopian highlands, where artisans spend countless hours hand-carving intricate geometric crosses. The meticulous process itself becomes an act of devotion and a pathway into deep meditative focus, much like the creation of mandalas in some Buddhist traditions.
Scarab
Rebirth.
A symbol of self-creation that has endured in ancient Egypt for over 3,000 years. Scarabs were revered because Egyptians believed they embodied the sun’s daily rebirth and the eternal cycle of life.
Winged, crowned in milgrain. Ancient coin texture. Stone defaults to lapiz lazuli but will include options such as lab emerald, sapphire and ruby.
Hamsa
Protection and good fortune.
Also spelled Khamsa or Khmissa, is a symbol of protection and discernment, inspired by the open hand that has guarded homes, families, and journeys across North Africa for more than a thousand years. Meaning “five,” it is an ancient palm-shaped amulet embraced across North African and Middle Eastern traditions, including Amazigh, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities.
The final design sketch features a dual-direction hamsa hand: pointing both up and down. Which means it invited both abundance and protection, since the orientation of hamsa has always held nuanced meaning. Center stone will come with a deep blue round lab sapphire. Options to swap out center stone will include emerald, ruby and diamond.
Gondar Cross
Faith.
An old-coin texture, set with a single bezel Ethiopian opal at its center. Ringed with 11 diamonds like the night sky. Milgrain detail and cut out features.
This cross is from the specific region of the founder's mother within the Ethiopian Highlands. It's known for ancient castles and this style of mandala-esque cross.
Ankh
Eternal Life.
Ancient Egypt’s hieroglyph for life itself, carried by gods and offered to kings for more than 3,000 years. It represented life force itself. In temple reliefs, gods extend the Ankh toward the lips of pharaohs as if offering the breath of life, reflecting the belief that vitality could be received, cultivated, and shared.
A mini pendant, which will be a great layering piece or dainty stand-alone. Made from the same ancient texture of the Bereka pendant from the gold line.
Yaz
Freedom.
The Amazigh symbol of the free person, drawn from the ancient Tifinagh script, one of the world’s oldest living writing systems. It comes from the Berber people, the Indigenous tribes of North Africa.
For the person with the strong inner compass. Those who make decisions based on their own conviction rather than outside approval.
